Stanford University's Lucile Packard Children's Hospital

A brand new 529,000 square foot, full service hospital with 149 private patient rooms. This hospital features 10 operating rooms with some of the latest imaging technologies,  multiple exterior gardens to assist in overall patient/patient family experience and healing development, underground parking for 420 vehicles below hospital, full service kitchen/cafeteria with indoor/outdoor seating, and a grand lobby entrance with point supported glazing overlooking the gardens and covered patient drop off area.

The foundation of the building consists of  a 4 foot thick mat slab that rests on over 2200 auger cast piles ranging from 50-70 feet deep. The steel structure is a multi-braced system with buckling restraint braces in the North-South direction and Sideplate system in the East-West direction. The largest steel members measure W14x768.
